The library’s Baker Genealogy Center provides classes every month to help novices and experienced researchers learn techniques to research their genealogy. We focus on internet resources to get you started and keep you engaged with your genealogy.
You can take genealogy classes virtually or at the library. You’ll learn from our experienced genealogist while you work on your own family history. Once you get started, you can continue to attend classes until you feel confident. Repeat attendees use the time to ask questions and work on their individual family trees.
Our Internet Genealogy class is the first in the series. You’ll learn how to use online resources to build your family tree and get helpful forms for keeping records.
In the Oral History class you learn how to use the library’s oral history kits to preserve and enhance your family and community history. The Internet Genealogy 2 class is the next step in building your family tree. This class focuses on using online resources to find vital records of your ancestors where they may be hidden.
