The Danish art of hygge invites people to take comfort and rest during the winter while we wait for the light to return in spring. You can do this in many ways. Many people enjoy hygge at home opting for a warm beverage, fresh-baked treats, soft lighting, knitted socks or heavy weight blankets.
In the library's Topeka Room we invite you to indulge in hygge by our fireside where you can read local and family histories in leather recliners. You can even bring a warm drink, just make sure it's covered with a lid.
We are happy to help with any genealogy or local history research you're working on. We can also help you organize your heirloom photos, turn them into a scrapbook or make them into ornaments. If you're looking for a getaway from all the hustle and bustle of winter, come on in and get cozy.
