A New Detective in Out of the Blues

Out of the BluesYears earlier the death of a blues musician was ruled an accidental drug overdose, but the case was reopened when new evidence emerged. Convicted felon Curtis Stone is trying to shorten his sentence in exchange for testimony that the musician was actually murdered. To check Stone’s story homicide detective Sarah “Salt” Alt is given the case even though she put Stone in prison after he tried to kill her.

This is Salt’s first case as a homicide detective, and despite the fact that she doesn’t want the unstable Stone to get out earlier, she goes after the truth. As the cold case heats up Salt discovers that the past can still kill in Out of the Blues. This debut novel featuring Salt is by Trudy Nan Boyce who spent more than thirty years in the Atlanta Police Department.
