Create & Explore the Art of Space: Across the Universe

Take a step into deep space this summer at the Across the Universe art exhibit. The Sabatini Family Foundation sponsors this exhibit that will be in orbit May 25-Aug 18.

Explore the universe and how we fit into it using everything from hula hoops to iPads. You can create constellations and even design a space rover! In addition to all the fun activities throughout the exhibit, every Tuesday from 1-2pm we’ll have extra spacey art projects.

Discover interactive opportunities with the planets, stars and beyond. Projected NASA images of deep space set the stage for our intergalactic experience. Go behind the scenes to find out how these photos were taken. You’ll also learn how scientists know what colors to use when editing space photos. Uncover the history of the universe and how we continue to discover new things in it. You can even take your photo in space!

“This exhibit is really about getting immersed in the environment and having a hands-on museum experience,” said Zan Popp, curator of exhibitions. “We’ll ignite children’s curiosity and help them develop their critical thinking. Explore the depths of the universe with us!”

Washburn University English student Autumn Lamp is our communications intern for spring 2019.
