Check Out a Telescope

This summer we added telescopes to the unique items you can check out at the library. Our telescopes are easy to set up and use to look at the moon and stars (just not the sun!). Simple directions to find constellations are included with each telescope. Just set-up the telescope on an small table and you are ready to explore the night's sky.
The project began when the Astronomical League of Kansas donated one telescope. We purchased four additional telescopes and prepared them for check out.
Adult library cardholders can check out a telescope for 2 weeks. If they are all currently checked out, you can place hold to get on list for one. Pick up and return the telescope to the customer service desk. They are too big for our book return.
