Summers are busy but reading is a great exercise for your brain. The Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library makes it easy with 12 weeks of Summer Reading & Events, May 28-August 18. Kids earn prizes for every 2 hours of reading! There are grand prize drawings for 3 age categories ( 5 yrs & under, 5-17 yrs and 17 & older) 2 family passes to Worlds of Fun, a 1-year pass to the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center, and 2 gift certificates to Topeka Civic Theatre. Harvesters free lunch is served at the library June 3-August 3 for kids birth to 18 yrs, from 11:30am – 12:30pm. Prizes

Kids and adults can take the reading challenge and kids earn rewards when they read at least 12 hours – download the Beanstack app to track your progress. The reading challenge has categories for Birth-5 years, school aged kids and adults. Everyone who completes the reading challenge will be entered in a grand prize drawings for: 1 family passes to Kansas Children’s Discovery Center (under 5 years), 2 family passes to Worlds of Fun (5-17 yrs), or 2 gift certificates to Topeka Civic Theatre (17 yrs and older).
