Bookmobile Service Temporarily Suspended Aug 16

Bookmobile service will be temporarily suspended starting Aug 16, 2020. Bookmobiles are not large enough to accommodate more than one person on the vehicle at a time to provide proper social distancing. When bookmobiles returned to service mid-June, they were serving a limited number of customers for curbside pick-up of reserved items and customers were not allowed to enter the vehicle. A minimal number of customers accessed the bookmobile for curbside pickup, making the decision easier to temporarily suspend bookmobile services.

Bookmobile Customers Participate in Pilot Program

Bookmobile customers will be offered the opportunity to participate in the TSCPL@Home pilot program to receive reserved library items and Browsing Just for You items delivered directly to their residence every other week. The pilot will be offered to current bookmobile customers who live in the TSCPL service area. Bookmobile customers will need to opt-out if they do not wish to participate in the pilot. If they opt-out, they will be able to pick-up their holds at the library or at the two Smart Locker locations at Hy-Vee or the Oakland Community Center. The pilot is only available to current bookmobile customers who live in the TSCPL service area and have been contacted to participate in the trial.
