Topeka Metro Gives FREE Rides on the Bus

This summer, Topeka Metro will offer children free rides on Topeka Metro fixed route buses. Whooo! Free trips to the library!

Through Aug. 15, children can take the bus to the library, Brown v. Board National Historic Site, Kansas Children’s Discovery Center, Topeka Zoo and many other great Topeka destinations.

“We see this as a great opportunity for folks that enjoy and use our local library to try the bus at no cost,” said Susan Duffy, Topeka Metro General Manager. “It’s so easy…just show your library card.”

For more information, call Topeka Metro Customer Service at 783-7000 or go to Additionally, Topeka Metro representatives will at the library June 17 from 10am-4pm for a mini touch-a-truck event, so you can ask them questions about free bus rides while picking up your library books.

  1. Very exciting, I’ve always wanted to ride the bus but just never have. This gives me even more of a reason to!
