The library stays on top of things. Is it too early to send out our summer issue of Library News? We don’t think so! It’s never too early to start thinking about what you can do this summer to keep your kids entertained and engaged.

Warm temperatures mean Summerfest is coming. Summerfest is our annual reading challenge. You can do it, Super Readers! Not only will Summerfest keep your kids’ reading muscles in practice, it’s also a fun way for your whole family to win prizes. Crack open the June-July issue of Library News to find out how to soar into summer reading. Registration opens May 1.

The newest Bookmobile is coming soon!

Also take a peek at a fully updated schedule, details on a new history neighborhood and bookmobile, and information about how to learn a language or read a magazine from home – for free – with your library card. Whether you learn something new, come get your facts straight about the Beatles, or take a trip back to the 70’s with a new gallery exhibit, there’s no danger of having a dull summer as long as the library is around.

Zoe Brown is the Editorial Assistant intern at the library. She is also a senior at Washburn University, where she is pursuing degrees in Contemporary Journalism and Psychology.
