Season of reading

Since winter is an excellent time for reading in a cozy spot, reading is the focus of our December 2017 – January 2018 edition of Library News. We’ve covered all types of reading including digital magazines, audiobooks, comic books, cookbooks and novels. Gear-up for our next community read with a preview of the February and March 2Book Topeka books about adventure and games: Ready Play One by Ernest Cline and Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library by Chris Grabenstein.

This edition also highlights all the book clubs the library supports and one librarian’s story of helping you find your next read. Readers need writers and we spotlight several library events that support local authors.

Check out your options to create in our Make-it Lab. Or bring your small team together in one of our eight new team rooms. These rooms double the space we had in the old study rooms and give you a quite space for six or fewer people to meet.

Lastly, Kansas will celebrate its 157th birthday on January 29, 2018. We share some of our states more interesting and entertaining history.
