The library’s Red Carpet Service is a well-tuned machine for serving the literacy, enrichment and entertainment needs of seniors in Shawnee County.
Like most things at the library, it’s so much more than books.
We have all the stuff seniors need to keep their brains active and sharp.
Seniors can come to the library on Monday afternoons and find events catered to them, including hands-on arts and crafts workshops, educational presentations and information to help them navigate through the aging process. See the full events calendar to find out what senior life events are coming up. Some require registration.
Books, of course, help to keep aging brains engaged, too. Those with low vision can try out magnifiers and other assistive devices so that nothing comes in the way of a strong reading relationship. We have the newest and best selection of large print books, activities, instruments, reminiscence kits and even sing-alongs.
We can bring checkouts straight to home-bound customers or those living in residential communities.
