Learn More about Free Mailing Service for the Blind

The library is offering customers with blindness or low vision a way to get library books delivered to their home for free. This new service is part of our commitment to serving the community through Red Carpet Services outreach.

Large print books and/or books on CD will be mailed to qualified customers in a zippered bag and can be sent back to the library without postage.

“Customers want to prolong their ability to read, and we want to help them,” said Stephanie Hall, Red Carpet manager. “Free mailing of library books supplements our outreach efforts, which includes visits to 55 senior-living and 85 homebound sites a month.”

Those who have been diagnosed with blindness or visual impairment can apply for free mailing. Fill out this Free Mailing Application (requires signature by authorized medical professional) and bring it in. Or ask for an application at the Red Carpet Services desk. There is no minimum age requirement. Library fees apply.
