Give the Gift of Reading

Support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library this holiday season to give Shawnee County kids books of their own. Imagination Library mails enrolled kids (birth to age 5) a new, carefully selected book directly to their home. This is a free program. All Shawnee County kids are eligible!

Help The Library Foundation and the Friends of the Library support the Imagination Library by purchasing an ornament in the Chandler Booktique. You can purchase a paper ornament for $1. Donating $30 will provide one child a year of books and you’ll receive “A gift of reading” ornament. Donating $150 provides one child five years of books and you’ll receive a handmade book-themed ornament.

We are in year two of the program with 4,521 (36%) of the 12,519 eligible children registered. If you know a little one, ask their parents or guardians if they are enrolled. We want all kids to have a home library. Register children under 5 years old who live in Shawnee County.
