Kids Library History

The Kids Library has been redesigned many times to keep up with the current generation of kids. The space is designed by a team of dedicated staff members that envision a unique experience for kids and families. Here's a look at the Kids Library from the 1940s to 2024.

2013 - 2024 Kids Library

The 2013 mural and 3D learnscapes (T-Rex, school bus, lighthouse, etc) throughout the Kids Library were designed and painted by staff member Michael Perkins. The T-Rex remains in the Kids Library after the 2024/2025 redesign.

Perkins spent one week a month painting. After 8 months he completed the mural in roughly 400 hours.
