This year’s event includes a representative from Ancestry.com who will present sessions on Beginning Genealogy, researching vital records on Ancestry.com, and researching military records using Fold3 with an emphasis on Civil War records. Representatives from the National Archives Central Plains Branch in Kansas City, Missouri, will present sessions on “Coming to America: Ship Passenger Arrival Lists” and “Township, Section, Range: Looking at Land Records.”
The event is cosponsored by the Kansas Historical Society, the Topeka Genealogical Society, the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library, and the Topeka Family History Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. For more information, call 785-272-8681 or visit www.ksancestorfair.org.
