It’s been a scorching July here in Kansas. Hopefully, this weather hasn’t been putting a damper on any of your Kansas Sesquicentennial celebrations. But if you’re like me, you’ve probably glued yourself to a couch to beat the heat. So how can one continue to celebrate the sesquicentennial in an fabulously air conditioned manner? By watching a movie marathon that includes some the best actors and actresses to ever come out of Kansas. I’ve listed my  top 5 favorite performers and some of their work below. If your favorite actor or actress from Kansas was left off the list, let me know!

1. Paul Rudd (Overland Park)-I Love You, Man; Knocked up; Clueless

2. Dennis Hopper (Dodge City)-Speed; Easy Rider; Hoosiers

3. Vivian Vance (Cherryvale)-I Love Lucy

4. “Buster” Keaton (Piqua)-The General; Battling Butler; Go West (great stunt work in his films)

5. Hattie McDaniel (Wichita)-Gone With the Wind; The Little Colonel; Alice Adams
