His debut novel, Thirteen Reasons Why, is a #1 New York Times and USA Today bestseller, and was released as a Netflix series in 2017. His first graphic novel, Piper, comes out Halloween 2017. He spoke at the library about the importance of using fiction to talk about uncomfortable subjects, his writing process, rejection and his path to publication.
