What is a Community Novel Project?
A community novel is one that is collaboratively conceptualized, written, illustrated, narrated, edited and published by members of your community. The goal of the Community Novel Project is to help writers gain skills and learn techniques that transfer to their writing careers, through working together on a collaborative writing project. This project developed out of our library’s Come Write In programming in support of NaNoWriMo.
Find upcoming events to gain skills and learn techniques. Community Novel Project is open to anyone who wants to learn more about being a writer, editor, marketer, or gain experience in any other role needed to successfully self-publish a book.
Follow along on our writing, editing and publishing progress on our annual project. Find handouts and notes from previous workshops.
Read and explore annual collaborative publishing projects since 2012.
Librarians and community writing groups are encouraged to build on this model.
