Play a game at the library!
Games & the library
Games are something that people do together, sometimes in friendly competition and sometimes working together toward a common goal.
Playing games let people of many ages and backgrounds interact together in a positive way, with more experienced players helping new players. Games encourage reflective thought, planning and persistence. Plus, games are just fun!
We live in a great era for games & gaming
European-style (Euro) games, which have a heavier strategy and lighter luck basis, became popular with games such as Catan.
Kickstarter and other crowdfunding have made it possible to have small game companies make unique and niche games with high quality components and devoted fans.
At one point the games section at the average store may have had Scrabble, Chess/Checkers, Sorry, and Monopoly. Now they have those and many modern classics such as Ticket to Ride, Catan, Love Letter, and Magic: The Gathering.
