New tools improve your digital work & play

You can now convert VHS tapes, cassette tapes and vinyl to digital media using library equipment in the Level 2 Tech Center's Memory Lab. We also have table-top microphones and headphones available for check out. Soon you will be able to check out Wacom digital design tablets. All these new tools are for use in the Tech Center by library cardholders 12 years old and older.
Save your analog memories in our Memory Lab
Don't let your cherished memories fade with your old VHS tapes, vinyl records and cassette tapes. Our new digital memory lab can help you preserve your history and relive your favorite memories in stunning clarity. We have the hardware and software to convert your VHS tapes, vinyl and cassette tapes to digital using either Elgato software or Audacity. You can take a quick in person class or online class to learn how it's done. Then you can reserve a time for a Memory Lab workstation.
Tools to enhance creativity & sound
In addition to our memory lab, the Level 2 Tech Center now offers a variety of equipment to enhance your creative and gaming experiences. Check out our headphones for immersive sound and high-quality microphones for recording. Soon you will also be able to check out Wacom Cintiq digital design tablets.
High-quality headphones & mics
You can check out high-quality headphones, compatible with Mac and PCs, to give you better sound in the Tech Center. Check out tabletop microphones to use in the recording studios and CoLab Rooms in the Tech Center. These Dynamic mics are great for podcasts because they drown out background noise.
Wacom Cintiq design tablets
You can draw, design, edit and create directly on the screen of a Wacom Cintiq tablet, which will give you more flexibility in your digital art. Soon these tablets will be available to check out while in the library's Level 2 Tech Center.
Orientation classes
To use the equipment in the Level 2 Tech Center take online orientation classes for the equipment and/or studio you want to use. These orientation classes are easy to sign up for through Niche Academy with your library card. The lessons are simple, include instructions and how-to's, and end with a small quiz. Once you create your account the progress on your account will be saved. We'll email you notification you have completed the required orientation and links for more help.
