The Alice C. Sabatini Art Gallery is pleased to bring you the newest, most exciting works in contemporary American printmaking.
Printed Image 6 will be on exhibit from November 4 – December 30, 2016.
This is the sixth time we have held this national juried printmaking competition, sponsored by The Friends of the Library. Any hand-pulled print technique, including intaglio, relief, serigraphy, lithography, photogravure, collagraph, monoprint and monotype and broadsides, were eligible for entry.
Artists from all over the country competed. A total of 91 artists from 29 states entered 256 prints. The field was narrowed to 48 prints by this year’s juror, Stephen Goddard, Associate Director, Senior Curator of works on paper, and Professor of art history at the Spencer Museum of Art.

The selected artists are masters of their techniques. Each artist reflects our world in their own way. Some comment on our social and political reality, some respond to very personal experiences, and all of them will get you thinking.
This Year’s Juror
This year’s juror was Stephen Goddard, Associate Director, Senior Curator of works on paper, and Professor of Art History at the Spencer Museum of Art. Stephen has dedicated his career to the study of printed art. In the course of his thirty-one years at the Spencer Museum of Art, he has organized over forty exhibitions and offered many courses on the history of printmaking.
