Tons of Talent & Creativity

This winter is packed with talented performers and authors visiting the library! See Broadway star Jeff Kready, world-renowned Fountain City Brass Band, local favorites the Kings of Swing, bestselling suspense and inspirational writer Tosca Lee, and bestselling YA author Adib Khorram. Read interviews with Kready and Khorram in this issue of Library News. You’ll also find dates and times for all the amazing events.

Library News just moved to a quarterly format with this Dec 2019, Jan 2020 and Feb 2020 issue. Now you can plan a little farther ahead for library events with three months in one issue.

Unwrap information to help with gift giving. Read about free digital access to Consumer Reports and a new artsy crafty learning and inspiration resource, Creativebug. Meet authors, hear readings and buy signed books (gift idea!) at Great Writers Right Here on Dec 7. Support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library by purchasing an ornament in the Chandler Booktique.

This issue also includes book recommendations from library fan, Lindsay Freeman, Director of Community Engagement for Advisors Excel. Staff highlight a few of the many new books, videos and music that will be ready for checkout this winter. Have some literary fun by playing a quick match game with main characters from popular 2019 books.

We’re highlighting our new video series Show Me How to help you use all the terrific library resources. Lastly this issue features an infographic about the 2020 Census and its value.
