Gear Up for Vacation

It’s time to prep for summer vacation. It may not feel like it, but summer is not far away. Planning a vacation, no matter when you are going to travel, gives you something to look forward to – a happy place in your mind. Ahhh.

Save your money for your trip by checking out free travel planning materials at the library. We have books and videos you can browse for global destination options. You can search by climate, setting, activities or food. Travel magazines are a rich resource for travel inspiration and recommendations. Check out Food and Travel and Condé Nast’s Traveler digitally through Flipster (select the Download It tab to access Flipster) to dig into all the travel ideas in these magazines.

Your library has a huge selection of travel books for any destination. From Lonely Planet’s Canary Islands Travel Guide to Insight Guide’s Iceland you can find stellar travel tips and recommendations.

Checking out a travel bag is another great way to collect all the specifics for your trip, including where to stay, what to see and what to do. We have travel bags for destinations you can easily drive to like St. Louis, Omaha or Denver, and destinations that require air or boat travel like Italy, France or Hawaii.
