A real garden experience

As many of you already know, the library has hosted many informative sessions with the Master Gardeners. They have presented on topics ranging from lawn care to rain barrels. But the best is yet to come. On Thursday, July 19 2012 from 7:00-8:00 pm, the Master Gardeners will be talking about and actually showing drought tolerant plants. The best part is that this program will be at the garden at the Shawnee County Extension Office at 1740 SW Western Avenue here in Topeka. And hopefully, you all will be joining the Master Gardeners there.

This is a chance to get up-close to some beautiful plants and see how they are planted in an actual garden with the Master Gardeners. I am very excited to see this garden as I would like to garden with more drought tolerant plants in my landscape design. I am also interested in hearing the Master Gardeners talk about how they planted these kind of plants. So, if you are interested, please meet us at the Shawnee County Extension Agency at 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 19th. I think it will be fun and very informative. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me here at the library and I will be very happy to answer your questions about this program or any other gardening need. Be sure and check out the Lawn and Garden Neighborhood for all kinds of gardening books. We also have a display with some marigold seeds and pamphlets that you can take with you. So, if you want to know more about drought tolerant plants, have your questions ready and  I hope to see you at the Shawnee County Extension Agency on July 19th.
