Naples on Edge in These Dark Things

These Dark ThingsA beautiful and promising college student, Teresa Steiner, is found murdered with her body left among the bones in the crypt below Naples. Though young, Teresa’s life was already complicated from her possible connections to organized crime to the affair she ended with a distraught professor. Naples itself is not easy to understand either with organized crime, the church, superstitions, and the people themselves.

Captain Natalia Monte of the Carabinieri with her partner Sergeant Pino Loriano are called in to investigate and navigate through the maze of clues and the power struggles within the city. Multiple connections interlink the victim, the suspects, and even Natalia herself. These Dark Things by Jan Merete Weiss is not just a murder investigation but a drama about a city and a woman who must survive its dangerous grasp.
