Speaking of Wimbledon, did you know the library has a couple of DVDs with two of the greatest Wimbledon matches in the history of the prestigious event? First, there is the classic 1978 women’s final between Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert – two of the biggest rivals the women’s game has ever seen. And then, the library also has what is considered by many to be one of the best matches in the history of the game – the 1981 Wimbledon final between Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe. Both are great entertainment and will have you longing for the days of wooden racquets and short shorts.
There have also been some great characters (i.e. John McEnroe and Jimmy Connors) and model human beings (i.e. Arthur Ashe) to take to the tennis court.
