Why leave the office to pick up books, movies & music

“The Library @ Work has saved me so much money and time,” said Tina Weinzirl, Hill’s employee. “I used to go online and either buy the ebook or the physical book. I now look at the library catalog first and have it sent to work if they have it. A day or two later – there it is. I feel like this is a ‘big city’ style service here in Topeka.”
We partner with several organizations to offer Library @ Work. Requested materials usually arrive quickly since we visit most locations two to three times per week."I have used the Library @ work system several times and find it really convenient and easy," said Jane Rezac Shawnee County Courthouse employee. "It is great when I reserve a book and it is delivered right here! Even when I borrow items from the main library it is so easy to return them when I come into the office!"
Employees of participating employers only need an active Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library card to get started. Then select almost anything from the online catalog and request that it be picked up at your place of employment. Once the item is available, you receive an email that it’s ready and can be picked up in the assigned location at your work. The item will already be checked out to you and ready to go. Items are checked out for 21 days. You can renew most items online and you’ll receive an email reminder when items are due. You can return items at work or any bookdrop.
“I am a frequent user of the Library @ Work and I love the convenience!” said Marjorie Lathrop, Hill’s employee. “I pick out my books online whenever I have time … no need to shoehorn in a trip to the library. And I almost never end up with late fees because it’s so easy to drop them off in our reception area.”
