Rockstar cameos in movies
I watched This is the End last weekend, mostly because Hermione Granger, err I mean Emma Watson is in it. I learned three things along the way:
- It's definitely a dude-friendly movie.
- James Franco's recent body of work is not impressing me at all. Sir, you can do better.
- I laughed out loud at the end when the Backstreet Boys made a cameo. IMHO, it was the best part of the movie! By the way, at that moment, am I the only one who flashed on the Stay-Puff marshmallow moment in Ghostbusters?! You know, because in heaven if you think it, you can have it?
That last one got me thinking about other musical groups that made cameos in movies. Which reminded me of a true story: Back in 2011 when You Again was fresh to video, I watched it with my youngest girl. At the end of the movie is a cameo of Hall & Oates, which I was all excited to see. I mentioned this to my girl and she asked all serious, "who's Hall & Oats?"
