It's always Family History Month at the library
It's October, which means it's time for #FamilyHistoryMonth!
In 2001 Congress designated October as Family History Month to encourage families to research, preserve and celebrate their heritage and ancestry.
In the library's Topeka Room (2nd floor) we are always ready with materials to help you connect to the past. You can learn about the sacrifices and hard work of those who came before, preserve stories and memories for future generations, and strengthen bonds and deepen your sense of identity.
Stop in for one on one research support, pick up some of our pre-printed genealogy research forms and materials, check out one of our new Oral History Kits and let us show you how to use them. We also love when you share stories with us. Add local history and genealogy events to your calendar so you can learn and connect with others who share your passion for family history.
