Here are a few favorite bedtime stories and a couple new recommendations that will have your little one saying “goodnight.” If your child needs more than a great book to get to sleep, check out these tips for better sleep.

Good Night, Gorilla by Peggy Rathmann

This wordless book is a favorite in many households. As the whole zoo tucks in for the night, one animal is wide awake and ready to stir up some trouble. Join the adventures — or misadventures — of a gorilla who is not ready to go to sleep.

Good Day, Good Night written by Margaret Wise Brown & illustrated by Loren Long

From the author of Goodnight Moon, this book includes a familiar word pattern that soothes anyone into a sound sleep. Follow along with little bunny as the day begins and as it is time to say goodnight.

Bedtime for Albie by Sophie Ambrose

It is bedtime in the savanna and all the animals are getting ready to get some sleep. Everyone, except Albie. Luckily, Albie's mom knows the perfect remedy to help him get ready for bed — a bath in the mud.

A Bedtime for Bear written by Bonny Becker & illustrated by Kady MacDonald Denton

In this book in the Bear and Mouse series we learn Bear needs total quiet to go to bed. In this lively tale, a house guest who is not as quiet as a mouse disrupts Bear. With humor and vivid illustrations, this book is sure to keep your child smiling as they drift off to sleep.
