Books for Your Parenting Journey

Have you ever read a parenting book? I voraciously read through the What to Expect series. It was like a compass or a field map for a destination that was unknown to me. Parenting books do not replace your "gut feeling" or your personal community. Rather, they are like a way finder on your parenting journey.

A good parenting book reflects your worries and normalizes the everyday struggles of parenting. When I select a parenting book I consider several factors. Does it provide motivation or hope? Is the author knowledgeable? Is the information realistic? Is it based on current research?

I also look to see if the book's value system aligns with my views. For example, I avoid harsh discipline, I treat children with respect, I believe it's important to be consistent and to do everything with love.

Parenting is tough, but it is the greatest adventure you’ll ever have. Gather the resources and tools you need for a successful journey.
