Author Gives Hope to Those Dealing with Dementia
Caregivers, family, friends and health care professionals dealing with dementia can find comfort and insight into the disease Sunday, November 17, 2-3pm in Marvin Auditorium. Deborah Shouse and Ron Zoglin, of KC’s Creativity Connection, share a positive message during a captivating performance based on Shouse’s book.

Central Recovery Press will publish an updated edition of Shouse’s previously self-published book next month. The book has raised more than $80,000 for Alzheimer’s programs and research. Shouse will also donate a portion of proceeds from the updated edition.
Shouse writes the Love Stories column for the Kansas City Star and co-facilitates the Kansas City Writer’s Group. Her writings have appeared in the Washington Post, Family Circle, Reader’s Digest, Woman’s Day Magazine and Newsweek, among others. She has been featured in dozens of anthologies, including the Chicken Soup series.
Zoglin is a professional storyteller who has performed for businesses, universities, and national and international conferences. He is also an antique dealer and appraiser.
Library hours are Mon. through Fri. 9 am to 9 pm, Sat. 9 am to 6 pm and Sunday 12 pm to 9 pm.
