Library cardholders 18 years old and older can stream films at no cost from any computer, television, mobile device or platform by downloading the Kanopy app for iOS, Android, AppleTV, Chromecast or Roku.

Service Details

What do I need?

  • Tablet, smartphone, computer or TV with streaming capabilities

  • Email address and unique password to create your Kanopy profile

  • Library card number and PIN/password.

  • Kanopy app or updated web browser software (e.g. Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, etc.)

 
Checkout process

  • Kanopy uses a ticket system to check out films
  • You are given 15 tickets per month
  • Each film has a ticket cost based on the film's run time
  • Most films cost 2 tickets
  • Nothing costs more than 5 tickets
    • Great Courses use 4-5 tickets for 21 day checkout
    • Series can cost up to 5 tickets
  • Kanopy selects 9 free films every month, no tickets required!
  • Your tickets reset on the first day of the month. Unused tickets do not roll over to the next month.

  • You can search Kanopy by genre or number of tickets needed to borrow
