Zombies Everywhere in 21st Century Dead: A Zombie Anthology

21st Century DeadZombies can be so many things like brain dead monsters that are hungry for humans, but they can also be symbols or allegories. 21st Century Dead: A Zombie Anthology edited by Christopher Golden is a collection of short stories that takes the idea of zombies in whole new directions though the flesh eating kind zombie is included as well. This excellent collection includes nineteen stories that have never been published before.

In the lighthearted “Reality Bites” by S.G. Browne, zombie reality TV takes a disturbing turn into the macabre, but in a more serious note Amber Benson’s “Antiparallelogram” it’s the poor who are the living dead that try to survive. While “Tender as Teeth” by Stephanie Crawford and Duane Swierczynski features a zombie that has been cured but is hounded by people for what she did while a zombie. Other authors included are Brian Keene, Simon R. Green, Orson Scott Card, and Jonathan Maberry.
