It's Chris' favorite season: Booker Award season! We're dedicating an entire episode to talking about the award and some of the books nominated.  The Booker Prize is a British award established in the late 1960s. The judges change every year, so while nominees must meet a certain literary standard, that standard isn't always the same year to year.

Chris discovered the award when he realized books he was already reading had "Booker Award" stickers on them. This intrigued him enough to look further into it. He now attempts to read as many of the nominees as possible every year. Autumn wants credit for reading one book off this year's list of nominees and two nominees over the years. Miranda has read several.

This year's nominees include one of the oldest and one of the youngest authors ever. Nominees also include two books set in Ireland in the 1980s. This year's shortlist is heavy with satire. If you're looking for some award-winning books, we've got you covered.
