Ruined Abbey Ruined Abbey

Time does not heal all wounds in The Ruined Abbey

Ruined AbbeyFather Brennan Burke received a shocking phone call from London: his sister has been arrested and is accused of being a member of the Irish Republican Army. Brennan leaves his New York Parish to go and help his sister, but after his arrival the trouble for his family escalates when his cousin Conn is charged with murdering a police officer.

Brennan believes his cousin is innocent, but Conn is not talking and is protecting someone even though it is stopping Conn’s release. Brennan is investigating the murder, and it is seems that the origin of the murder might go back years and is intertwined with Brennan’s own family’s struggles for Irish Independence.

The Ruined Abbey by Anne Emery takes place in 1989 when bombings and violence were occurring. This tense mystery combines intrigue with murder in this prequel to the popular Collins-Burke series.
