Teen Art Club: Customize Mugs

This is a simple craft and all you will need is a white ceramic mug (we got ours from the dollar store!) and oil-based Sharpie paint pens. Once you procure your mugs – I definitely recommend getting several – draw whatever you want on them.

Jenn & Angie chose inspirational quotes and house plants!

Kody decorated his with bold colors and some favorite song lyrics!
Once you have perfected your design, let your artwork dry. Then you need to bake it to get your art to set and have it ready to gift and use. To bake your mugs, place them on a cookie sheet and put them in a cold oven. Turn your oven to 350 degrees and let them bake for approximately 30 minutes. You can also double bake them to be certain your design will stay. Once they are complete, let them cool before touching. Then wash them gently by hand. These are not dishwasher safe! However, if someone accidentally puts it in the dishwasher and you lose your design, you can redesign your mug.
When your mug is complete you'll want to tune into Jenn's Anyone Can Cook this month to learn to make your own hot cocoa! Then you make some for yourself or put some in a little baggie to gift with the mug to a friend. Ahh, how sweet!
Cheers to a new year, my friends! I hope you all have a happy and healthy holiday season!
