Summer Reading: Schoolness & Coolness

Reading Under TreeMaybe you are stumped as to what to read this summer. Or maybe you are eagerly waiting for that email telling you that the copy of The Fault in Our Stars you put on hold is ready to be picked up. And maybe, just maybe, you have to read something for school over the summer (bummer). Well, good news! The library has what you’re looking for!

If you have to choose a book from a summer reading list, chances are it is on the current book display in David J’s: Summer Schoolness, Summer Coolness. That book display also hosts some hot and/or new reads for those who want to just ignore that book list already. Below are some sample titles from both categories:

  • The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain
  • BZRK by Michael Grant
  • O Pioneers! by Willa Cather
  • March: Book One by John Lewis
  • The Three Musketeers by Alexander Dumas
  • Invisibility by Andrea Cremer

So request away those popular titles like The Hunger Games Trilogy, The Mortal Instruments Series, The Fault in Our Stars, and Eleanor & Park. But while you are waiting for those hot books, pick up something classic, new, or just different. You’ll possibly discover something completely unique and rewarding. Plus, you’ll have fun doing it! While you’re at it, count those hours of reading towards Summerfest. If you haven’t signed up yet, make sure to do so! We have some hot prizes for that reading you’re already doing.

Make sure to tell us what books you’re excited about in the comments below, and happy reading!
