Meet The Cozies!

The Cozies are coming to the library! Get to know a little bit about them and then come and rock out. They will be in The Edge Friday, July 24 from 7-8 p.m. Standing room only.

What are the names of the members in your band? Alex on guitar; Wyatt on vocals and keyboard; Paul/Jared on drums (we kind of have 2 drummers right now); Jacob on bass

What grades are you in and where do you go to school? Paul - Sophomore @ Washburn Rural; Alex - Freshman @ Washburn University; Jacob - Freshmen @ UMKC; Wyatt - Freshman @ Wichita State; Jared - Junior @ Washburn University

What other instruments do you play? In addition to rock, Jacob and Alex both play jazz. Jacob is a great upright bass player. We use a lot of Fender (brand) gear - it's our favorite!

What bands inspire your sound? We don't really have a single inspiration, it's more of a culmination of all of our influences which are quite diverse.

What are your favorite things to do in Topeka? Play music (of course!), hang out, fish, adventure in nature and go to jam sessions.

What is your favorite thing about the summer? Being outside and outdoor activities.

What you want to do when you grow up? Jacob - Professional Jazz Musician; Alex - Studio guitarist/songwriter/maybe a music educator?; Wyatt - History teacher

What is the coolest thing that has happened to you as a band? Getting played on the radio at KJHK in Lawrence was pretty sweet. Recently we had some completely random people come up to us after a gig and told us they listened to us on bandcamp and came to see us play. That was pretty special.

Tell me a little bit about your band? We've been together for two years. We didn't think we would ever stay together for this long, but we're still here and rocking! We want to give a shout out to all of our extremely supportive fans - you guys are great!

What is your favorite thing about the library? The music selection is great. We have all picked up books there at some point in our lives. They have some neat exhibits and activities too! We are looking forward to the show!
