Medieval Murder in The Book of Fires

The Book of FiresLady Isolda Beaumont was found guilty of murdering her husband and burned at the stake. Her execution does not end the case because the Crown Prosecutor and others involved in her conviction have been murdered with a mysterious fire that could not be put out with water and spread quickly, burning the victims to nothing.

It’s 1381 in London and John of Gaunt has called on Brother Athelstan and John Cranston to investigate Lady Isolda’s conviction, who is behind the recent murders, and just as importantly to find the origin of the mysterious fire that could easily be turned into a weapon of mass destruction especially as revolts threaten the crown in The Book of Fires by Paul Doherty.

This medieval mystery is part of the Brother Athelstan Medieval Mystery Series, featuring Brother Athelstan and Cranston. Doherty is the author of many historical mysteries including the Hugh Corbett Series which is also set in the Middle Ages.
