Welcome to I Didn't Know the Library Did That. It's a new blog that does a double-take when that age-old exclamation escapes the lips of a library customer. It's a phenomenon that happens here all the time and we're fixing to put a stop to it. Didn't know that about the library? Well, now you do.

Did you know that we'll deliver books to your grocery cart?

We think books, DVDs and music should be available at your grocery store, for FREE.

If you shop at Topeka Hy-Vee, we want you to pick up your family's books and DVDs along with the weekly meal menu. You can tell us to deliver your library goods to your grocery store.

Here's how to do it.

1. Cruise through the online catalog and find the book you want:

2. Place a request on the book. In the field marked "Pickup Library," select HyVee Smartlocker.

3. We'll notify you by text, email or phone when your stuff is ready to pick up. Go shopping!

Now, the next time you go to pick up your groceries for the week, you can pick up books, DVDs and music for the week, too. When it's time to re-stock your fridge and pantry, you can return your items right back to the Smartlocker at Hy-Vee.
