Delving into Murder in Silent Voices

Jenny Lister appears perfect. She looks good, even younger than her forty-one years, is a respected social worker, and has a great relationship with her daughter, but everything isn’t as it seems because someone murdered her. To find the killer DCI Vera Stanhope must unearth the uglier parts of Jenny’s life and Vera is the one to do it since she and her team are one of the best.

Vera plows into the case with an almost manic energy and it pays off as she discovers a mystery man in Jenny’s life, but before she can solve the case there is another murder. With the killer on the loose Vera must move quickly to stop another killing in Silent Voices.

This popular mystery is part of the Vera Stanhope Mystery series and is the basis for the television series Vera. The author Anne Cleeves has also written other acclaimed mysteries.
