Curiosity Club: Majestical Unicorns

Our first week is the Fantastic and Majestic Unicorn! My love for unicorns began when I was 9 years old and my dad gave me a painted pewter unicorn as a gift. Since then I’ve received many, many Unicorn themed presents. I show you a few of them in the video!

Unicorn Masks

If you missed picking up one of our Unicorn Craft Kits at the Monday Farmers Market, here is something similar! This cool tutorial from Crayola uses a paper plate.

Supplies

Paper plates
Scissors
Glue
Crayons/markers
Decorations (use your imagination! Sequins, yarn, fabric scraps…)

Directions

Once you cut the inner circle out of your plate you are ready to decorate. Add ears, a horn and whatever else you think will make your unicorn unique! You can add a popsicle stick to hold it up to your face OR a piece of paper around the back if you want to wear it, for a hands free look!

The library has a lot of unicorn themed books. There are some awesome titles for younger kids in the picture books. You'll find how to draw and history of unicorns for older kids. Of course there is also Fantasy Fiction and a few series for those teens and adults who have a passion for unicorns like I do!
