A War Torn Fantasy World in Of Bone and Thunder

The Kingdom is at war in a distant land filled with dense jungles and where the Kingdom’s soldiers battle an unseen enemy who seems to attack at will. The enemy’s magic is unknown and their guerrilla warfare is making the Kingdom’s soldiers disillusioned as they struggle to survive in a fantasy world reminiscent of the Vietnam War in Of Bone and Thunder.

The author Chris Evans is a military historian who has written on the Vietnam War and has created this unique fantasy epic where dragons fly overhead while at the same time the story feels like modern warfare. This novel is a world building fantasy with detailed descriptions and numerous characters like the idealistic soldier Thaum Jawn Rathim whose views are about to be challenged and Ugen Listowk who is trying to survive the jungle warfare. Evans is also the author of the fantasy series The Iron Elves Saga.
