2011 National Book Award: Young People's Literature

The National Book Award is an American literary prize given to writers by writers and administered by the National Book Foundation, a nonprofit organization. There are prizes awarded in the categories fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and young people's literature. See all the winners here.

The winner of the Young People's Literature award is:

Through a series of poems, a young girl chronicles the life-changing year of 1975, when she, her mother, and her brothers leave Vietnam and resettle in Alabama.
