One full-time and one part-time position are available.

Takes an active role in daily safety and security issues. Operates security systems such as cameras, DVR’s, controlled access and incident reporting software. Continually patrols library property and observes activity. Monitors and reacts to emergencies and activities on library property. Operates life safety systems such as fire alarm and announcement systems. Demonstrates professional rapport in all customer interactions. Maintains proper risk management reporting, documentation and record keeping of any accidents, slips, falls, liability situations, and parking lot violations.
To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the applicant must have a High School diploma or equivalent, two years of customer service experience, a valid driver’s license, excellent customer service skills, and good problem solving skills. This position requires; the ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, bend, see, speak, hear, lift/carry up to 50 pounds, exert 30 pounds of force when pushing/pulling materials, reach, talk on the telephone, perform stationary work with a desktop computer, view video security monitors; and basic computer knowledge. Preferred qualifications include: two years of experience in security work in a customer service setting, ability to perform detailed work with accuracy, manual dexterity, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced work environment. A pre-and/or post-employment drug screen, criminal history record check, and physical capacity testing are required as a condition of employment.
Full-time: Monday Off, Tuesday Off, Wednesday 4:15pm – 9:15pm, Thursday 11:45am – 9:15pm, Friday 8:45am – 5:15pm, Saturday 8:45am – 6:15pm, Sunday 12:45pm – 9:15pm
Part-time: Monday 4:15pm – 9:15pm, Tuesday 4:15pm – 9:15pm, Wednesday Off, Thursday Off, Friday 4:15pm – 9:15pm, Saturday 1:15pm – 6:15pm, Sunday Off
Day, evening and weekend hours are required. To ensure proper security coverage changes in schedule may be necessary at times.
Beginning rate starts at $15.26 per hour. Excellent benefits available include health insurance, dental insurance, KPERS retirement, flexible spending plans, group life, and long term disability insurance. Other optional benefits available at employee’s expense include life and cancer insurance and a deferred compensation plan.
