Friends of the Library – Part-time Book Prep and Internet Sales Coordinator

The Friends of the Library has an opening for a part-time Book Prep and Internet Sales Coordinator. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Review of applications will begin immediately.

POSITION: Book Prep and Internet Sales Coordinator. Part-time, 25 hours per week including weekends.

DUTIES: Responsible for the operation of the sorting process. Making sure volunteers have supplies and direction. Sorts, discards or directs donated materials to specific areas and categories and provide direction and training for volunteers on the dock and sort rooms A & B. Responsible for the operation of the Web Sales business. Works with the Friends Web Sales and Book Sale Committees. Serves as liaison between Web Sales and Amazon and the postal service. Fills in when an online shipper is not available. Responsible for the general condition of the sorting rooms appearance in terms of organization, order, and cleanliness. Assists with book sales and other special events as needed.

REQUIREMENTS/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have a High School diploma or equivalent. Applicants should be knowledgeable about authors, books, and videos. Basic library skills are preferred. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with customers, volunteers, colleagues and supervisors is required. This position requires manual dexterity, bending, lifting/carrying at least 50 pounds, pushing/pulling materials weighing at least 25 pounds, reaching, and the ability to climb stairs, talking on the telephone and stationary work at a computer terminal.

A pre-employment drug screen, a criminal history record check, and physical capacity testing are required as a condition of employment.

COMPENSATION: $10.50 per hour. This position is an employee of the Friends of the Library and does not receive TSCPL library benefits.
