Custodian (Part-time)

Come be a part of the library maintenance team by providing custodial services across the library.

JOB DUTIES: Clean Library facilities using custodial equipment such as: large vacuums, upright vacuums, and carpet shampooers. Other tasks will include dusting, wet mopping, restroom cleaning, dust mopping, emptying trash, and other general custodial duties. Arrange meeting rooms for programs and meetings. Empty and box up donations. Lock and secure the Library.

REQUIREMENTS/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record is required. One year custodial experience and knowledge of the operation of different types of custodial equipment is preferred. Meeting room setup and minor maintenance experience are preferred. A pre-and/or post-employment drug screen, a criminal history record check, and a physical capacity testing are required as a condition of employment.

SCHEDULE: Monday 8:00 pm – 12:00 am, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday off, Friday 8:00 pm – 12:00 am, Saturday 12:15 pm – 6:15 pm and Sunday 3:15 pm – 9:15 pm.

PAY & BENEFITS: Starting pay range is $13.08 to $16.35 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Excellent benefits including health & dental insurance with pre-tax premiums, and a retirement plan (KPERS). Group life insurance, disability coverage and accidental death benefits are also provided. Other optional benefits available at employee’s expense include vision, life and cancer insurance and a deferred compensation plan.
