Large round coin in greys and tans, fills the paper. Coin depicts a Native American in profile. The word "LIBERTY" and date 1913 are in the top right and bottom left sides of the coin, respectively. Nickel was minted 1913 - 1938, sculpted by James Earl Fraser, commissioned by the Taft administration. Portrait is not of one single model, composed of several images which makes the portrait controversial and stereotypical. The back side of the coin depicted a buffalo, this coin was also referred to as a Buffalo Nickel. Printed on Lenox Museum Board, 78/250. Published by Gaultney, Klineman Art Inc., New York and printed by Rupert Jason Smith, New York.
