The Alice C. Sabatini Gallery is your connection to the arts and curates four main exhibits each year including the Summer Art Exhibit for Children. In addition to the large exhibits, gallery staff curate several exhibits throughout the library each year giving visitors opportunities to explore a wide variety of art and artists.

Runway Remix: Fashion in Focus
Feb 27 - May 17, 2026
This exhibit examines the artistic process through the lens of clothing and fashion. Seven artists developed original pieces of wearable fiber art inspired by pieces from the library’s permanent art collection.
Art Exhibit for Children: Dinosaur Revolution
May 30 - Aug 16, 2026
Our summer exhibit will be an interactive maze for kids. They will play as they learn about dinosaurs and the people who study them.

Explore the art of maps and the ways they connect people around the world.
Illusions
Dec 18 2026 - March 7, 2027
Artists play with perspective and dimensions in their work. This exhibition will examine how artists can trick the senses into believing the impossible.
On June 8, 1966, a massive tornado changed the landscape of our city forever. As we approach the 60th anniversary of that historic day, explore a special commemorative exhibit ’66 / ’26: The Topeka Tornado 60 Years On in the Topeka Room. Running through June 28, 2026, this multi-sensory exhibit invites you to step back in time, share your story and see the storm through a new lens.
